  • EMDRIA-certified

I received my BSW from Kutztown University and MSW from Marywood University. I have been a practicing therapist since 2003, starting with in-home therapy with families, teens and adults. I have also worked in school settings providing in-school counseling to young people from elementary up to high school. Upon leaving the non-profit sector in 2013, I have been in private practice providing therapy to clients with PTSD, anxiety and mood disturbances. I have extensive experience working with families and individuals with trauma. I am trained in EMDR (EMDRIA-certified), hypnotherapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Gottman Level-1 Training and Functional Family Therapy (for whom I am also a trainer and consultant).

The most important element of who I am though as a clinician and consultant is about who I am as a person. I was born in Beirut, Lebanon during the early years of what turned out to be a long, painful civil war. Coming to the U.S.A. at 12 months of age as a refugee, and all it took to get through that life gave me an inside look at how trauma can alter a family’s path and a person, inside and out. I learned about empathy, resilience and the strength of the human spirit to strive for good in spite of bad experiences and even some bad choices. Because of these experiences, my approach is one of respect for all people’s culture and histories; striving to create an environment in which everyone can feel safe to learn, grow and share while being challenged. I also throw in quite a bit of laughter for good measure. I volunteer with the ACLU as a way to give back to an organization that helped my family gain asylum. I live in the Lehigh Valley with my husband, cat, siblings, in-laws and nephews, all of whom I adore.

Yami Rosado-Ziegler, LPC

She/Her - Bilingual therapist (English & Spanish)

  • EMDR practitioner

Mental wellness has become a passion of mine, and I feel that all individuals can benefit from exploring their mental health. We all have different needs, experiences, and backgrounds that require individually tailored approaches. I believe in treating clients as unique individuals while acknowledging that they are human like the rest. With empathy in mind, I strive to create a welcoming, supportive, and collaborative environment for all my clients.

I currently hold a B.S. in Kinesiology and an M.A. in Clinical Counseling. I am also in the process of obtaining my LPC for the state of Pennsylvania. I have experience working with later adolescence and early adulthood individuals in a college setting. My areas of experience include working with individuals who have struggled with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma. I have been trained as a generalist, so I have used different therapeutic modalities when working with clients (CBT, DBT, etc.). I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy for the treatment of PTSD.

With my background, I like to take a holistic approach to therapy. Not only do I address mental health, but I also consider the physical, social, and spiritual well-being of all individuals. Also, being a Latina, I believe in the importance of being culturally competent and respecting the diversity of my clients. Having been born and raised in the Lehigh Valley, I strongly desire to give back to my community and provide evidence-based counseling services that may aid my clients' overall well-being.

  • ABA-trained

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2012, specializing in helping children, adolescents, and adults learn coping skills and other strategies to manage life stresses, build on existing strengths, and empower themselves to feel better, more resilient, and more self-confident. I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Services from Lehigh University in 2015. Prior to pursuing my degree, I worked in a variety of settings, including a memory care unit with people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, community mental health, residential psychiatric facilities for children and adolescents, and group homes for adults. In addition to working with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of presenting concerns, I also have a strong background in crisis intervention, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and Attention Deficit Disorder.

I am at my core a person-centered clinician who works to meet you where you are at and sees the value in you. Even when you may feel at your worst, I will help you see the strengths that you have and how to use your strengths as part of our treatment together. We will also work to help you identify and build new strengths. Depending on your personality, preferences, and what makes sense for what you are going through, I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Adlerian, Feminist, and Solution-Focused strategies to help you recognize unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors and work to find ways to make your life more functional and to reduce your stressors. I am trained in Functional Behavioral Assessment, ABA, and Sanctuary, a trauma-informed care model. I also have a breadth of experience working on integrated health teams, so I look at things holistically and take the approach of looking at your entire system to see what contributes to how you are feeling. I am a strong advocate for my clients and work to link clients to external resources to continue growth beyond therapy.

Life can be difficult to navigate and can bring challenges to finding safety and security within the spaces we are in. You may be experiencing the following: struggling with the instability created throughout the pandemic, seeking support after coming out as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, exploring the impact of your cultural identity, or low-self esteem and body image issues that have worsened. I provide an affirming and strength-focused space for you to be heard as you address any of these areas and more. I cherish a warm, collaborative therapeutic style that allows you to join in designing the path that we explore together.

As a first-generation American from a Black Jamaican household and first-time mom, I prioritize the intersectionality of culture and mental health as sometimes our environments have created barriers to accessing wellness. My focus aims to create space that leads to empowerment and healing through an anti-oppressive lens.

I utilize a non-pathologizing approach that helps you gain awareness and understanding of your presenting challenges and triggers rather than focusing on the diagnosis. Together we will utilize a holistic approach that incorporates somatic healing such as breathwork, guided meditation, and movement to help you become grounded in your body. I am trained in Functional Family Therapy, a research-based family therapy model, and have experience working with people struggling with trauma, disordered eating and much experience with young adults.

  • Gottman Trained for couples work

I received my Masters in Counseling from Villanova University, am a National Certified Counselor, and am in the process of obtaining licensure as an LPC in the state of Pennsylvania. I have experience working with teens, adults, and families, in both an office and in-home settings. I am trained in the Gottman Method for couples work, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children and Triple P (Positive Parenting Program).

Emotions can often seem overwhelming, but they serve a purpose in pointing to what needs our attention. I love guiding people through more deeply understanding themselves, having more compassion and acceptance for their emotions and experiences, and encouraging new perspectives by testing outdated beliefs.

I utilize a holistic, trauma-informed approach with a focus on the relationship with each individual. I believe that our traumas are formed relationally, and must be healed relationally, which can be initiated through the therapeutic relationship. I specialize in shame, mindfulness, human connection, and trauma. I have found that balance is often key and I provide space for the range of human emotions. I intuitively navigate what an individual is needing, whether it is sitting with their feelings or simply laughter. I believe that with enough support and safety, we all innately have the ability for growth.

  • CPT for PTSD trained

  • Works with young children!

I am currently a Level II Certified School Counselor with a Bachelor’s Degree in 7-12 English Education and Master’s Degree in K-12 School Counseling. I am in the process of obtaining my professional licensure for counseling outside of an educational setting. I have facilitated small groups in schools for anger management, organization skills, coping skills and emotional self-regulation. In a previous position as a Mobile Therapist, I assisted children and families with behavioral needs, social skills, conflict resolution, and communication skills. I am also trained in the evidence-based modality of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD.

In my role of school counselor, I work with students and school staff to provide guidance that will help each student grow emotionally, socially, and academically. While most of my work has been with children, I enjoy supporting parents and other adults in their self-improvement goals. Using a trauma-informed approach, I strive to facilitate and enhance the development of each student as a total person. I have much experience with the writing of 504 Plans, which are documents that ensure a student with an identified disability has access to accommodations that assist with academic success. I firmly believe that every child has the potential to be successful in all aspects of their lives when they are taught the skills they need to grow and allowed to just be themselves. I help children see the best of themselves and help walk them through their thoughts to guide them in finding their highest potential. I feel that all people are deserving of feeling respected, supported, and safe. I was born and raised in Florida, but have been in the Lehigh Valley Area for 23 years, surrounded by an amazingly supportive and loving family.
